Baltic and North Atlantic Pottery Research Group - 4th Meeting in Bergen, 7-8 April 2022 at University Museum Bergen

Dear colleagues,

The Baltic and North Atlantic Pottery Research Group (BNPG) is a group of archaeologists, historians, art historians and other scholars with a passion for medieval and post-medieval pottery produced and traded within Northern Europe. It was established in 2016 with the aim of bringing together specialists from different regions to meet and exchange knowledge.

Following the very successful first three meetings in Stockholm 2016, Tallinn 2018 and Stralsund 2020, we decided to meet again in two years in Bergen, Norway. The meeting in Tallinn was attended by 43 persons from eleven different countries, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic only 25 persons from seven countries could come to the Stralsund meeting. We now hope that we can be at least 40 persons in Bergen.

We hereby announce that the fourth meeting will take place in Bergen on 7-8 April 2022. Like in the previous meetings, we decided that we will not set a specific topic, so all contributions from people dealing with pottery from the Northern Europe that would fit into medieval and later periods are welcomed.
